how credits work

one pool pays for everything. speech, transcription, music, sound effects and dubbing all come out of the same monthly credits.

approximate costs, per ElevenLabs:

product credits
text to speech 1 per character (0.5 to 1 on Flash/Turbo models via API)
speech to text 330 per minute
music 900 per minute
sound effects 200 per generation
voice changer / isolator 1,000 per minute
dubbing 2,000 to 10,000 per minute, depending on watermark and Studio

unused credits roll over for up to two months on paid plans, up to 3x your monthly quota in total, as long as you stay subscribed and don't downgrade. top-up credits bought on the side don't count towards that cap.

the catches (read these)

1. free isn't for commercial use. the commercial licence starts on Starter.

2. dubbing burns credits. at 2,000 to 10,000 credits a minute, Starter's 30,000 credits give you roughly 3 to 15 minutes of dubbing.

3. downgrading costs you. downgrade or cancel and your unused paid credits expire at the end of the billing cycle.

4. extra minutes cost less on bigger plans. on the plan comparison, an extra TTS minute is about $0.36 on Free and $0.17 on Pro and above.
