Supabase pricing (2026): is Supabase free, and what does Pro really cost?

updated ยท prices checked on vendor pages

quick answer: Supabase has a Free plan at $0 (500 MB database, 50,000 monthly active users, 2 active projects, paused after a week of inactivity). Pro is from $25/mo, Team from $599/mo, Enterprise is custom. the catch on paid plans: compute is billed per project, and the plan's $10 a month of compute credit covers one Micro instance. so one Pro project is $25, two are $35.

Supabase is #1 of 5 on our backend, database & deploy board (9.0/10), and it's our default backend for ai apps for one reason: Postgres, auth, storage and pgvector in one box, so the app your coding agent just wrote has somewhere to live without you gluing four services together. the price is the second question, not the first.

the plans

as of oct 30, 2026, from Supabase's pricing page:

plan price what you get
Free $0/mo 500 MB database, 50,000 MAU, 5 GB egress, 1 GB file storage, 500,000 edge function invocations, community support. 2 active projects, paused after 1 week idle
Pro from $25/mo 8 GB disk per project, 100,000 MAU, 250 GB egress, 100 GB file storage, 2 million edge function invocations, daily backups kept 7 days, email support, $10/mo compute credit, never paused
Team from $599/mo everything in Pro, plus SOC2 and ISO 27001, SSO for the dashboard, read-only and project-scoped roles, backups kept 14 days, 28-day log retention, priority support with SLAs, HIPAA as a paid add-on
Enterprise custom uptime SLAs, AWS PrivateLink, 24/7 support, a technical account manager

every plan has unlimited API requests, unlimited team members and unlimited total users. the MAU number is monthly active users, not sign-ups.

is Supabase free?

yes, properly free for side projects: a real Postgres database, auth, storage, realtime and edge functions, no card needed to start. the limits that actually bite a dev:

the Free plan also covers a dev and a production project, as Supabase itself suggests. and if you'd rather not pay at all, Supabase says you can self-host it with Docker or the Supabase CLI.

what Supabase Pro really costs

the $25 is the plan. compute is on top, per project, billed hourly:

the spend cap is on by default on Pro. hit a quota and you're capped rather than billed. turn it off in the dashboard and you pay as you grow. the Pro fee is charged up front each month, and extra usage is billed at the end of the month.
