What is Grok Bot? The agent with its own computer, explained

Updated · prices checked on vendor pages

Quick answer: Grok Bot is xAI's hosted AI agent. Each Bot gets its own cloud computer, signs into your apps and websites the way you would, and works through tasks you hand it, 24/7, even with your laptop shut. It comes with The X Subscription on Premium ($30/mo) and up. There's no free version, and the $8 Plus plan doesn't include it.

What does it actually do?

You message a Bot like you'd message a colleague, give it a job, and it gets on with it. The difference from a chat assistant is the computer: because each Bot has its own machine, it can work inside your actual tools, including the clunky ones without a decent API. Log it in once and it carries on from there.

The bits worth knowing:

How much does Grok Bot cost?

Grok Bot isn't sold on its own. It comes bundled with The X Subscription, the single plan that now covers Grok, Cursor and X Premium perks.

Plan Monthly Annual Grok Bot? Included usage
Free $0 $0 No Limited
Plus $8 $80 No Base
Premium $30 $300 Yes 4x Plus
Super $100 $1,000 Yes 15x Plus
Ultra $200 $2,000 Yes 50x Plus

Prices are before tax. Team seats are $30 (Premium), $100 (Super) and $200 (Ultra) per seat, and you can mix tiers within a team. Enterprise is through xAI's sales team.

The catch: there's no separate Grok Bot allowance. Bot work comes out of the same weekly pool as your Grok chats and your Cursor usage. If you lean on Cursor all day, a Premium seat will feel tight once Bots are running too. Super is where heavy users end up.

Already on an older Cursor or SuperGrok plan? Those carry on as they are. Switching to The X Subscription is optional, but once you unify accounts it's permanent.

What about privacy?

Grok Bot uses the same Cursor SSO, auth and privacy mode. xAI says each cloud computer is encrypted in transit and at rest, with training opt-out. Enterprise admins can set DLP, certificates, proxies and network controls when the machine boots.

It's still an agent that logs into your accounts and acts for you. Give it the access the job needs and no more.
