community privacy notice
this is an invite-only beta, so these pages may change as it grows. questions: [email protected].
this covers the numptr community (numptr.com/community/, /b/ and /u/ pages). the rest of numptr is covered by the main privacy notice.
who we are
numptr, [email protected]. we're the controller for the data below.
what we collect and why
- account: email address, and your GitHub id, username and avatar if you sign in with GitHub. to sign you in and contact you about your account (contract).
- profile and builds: handle, display name, bio, link, builds, tools, costs, likes and chat messages. public by design: that's the service (contract).
- costs in aggregates: your per-tool monthly costs feed anonymous "what people pay" numbers on tool pages, only when at least 3 builds share costs for that tool. untick it on any build to opt out (legitimate interest; you can object any time).
- safety: reports, moderation actions, and rate-limit counters keyed on a one-way hash of your IP address (we don't store raw IPs). to keep the place free of spam and abuse (legitimate interest; legal obligation under the UK Online Safety Act).
- cookies: one strictly necessary cookie (
np_sess) keeps you signed in for 30 days, plus a 10-minute cookie during GitHub sign-in. no tracking or ad cookies, so no banner.
who else touches it
Cloudflare (hosting, database, bot checks), Resend (sign-in emails), GitHub (only if you use GitHub sign-in). we never sell your data or share it for advertising.
how long we keep it
until you delete your account. sign-in links expire after 15 minutes; sessions after 30 days; rate-limit counters after 2 days; reports and mod logs for [12 months] after they're resolved.
your rights
download everything we hold (settings → download my data), fix it (settings), or delete your account (settings → delete my account, instant). you can also object, restrict or complain: email us, or contact the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
you need to be 18 or over to join the beta.
