Cursor pricing explained: what you actually get for your money
Updated · prices checked on vendor pages
Quick verdict: Most people want Premium at $30/mo. Plus at $8 is a steal if Grok models are enough for you. Super ($100) if you run agents all day. Ultra ($200) only if you're properly hammering it. And remember: Claude, GPT and other third-party models cost extra on top.
Cursor's pricing page changed a lot. Plans are now part of the X Subscription, bundled with Grok and a load of X perks. Here's the plain version.
The plans
| Plan | Price | Usage | Key AI bits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited | Limited agent and chat requests; limited Grok Build |
| Plus | $8/mo | Basic shared pool | Cursor agent, Grok Chat/Voice/Imagine/Build, Grok API access. Grok models only |
| Premium | $30/mo | 4x Plus | Latest Grok models, cloud agents and automations, code hosting, Bugbot code reviews, third-party models at API list price, Grok Bot |
| Super | $100/mo | 15x Plus | Everything in Premium + priority model access at peak times |
| Ultra | $200/mo | 50x Plus | Everything in Super + earliest access to products and models |
| Teams | $30+/user/mo | 4-50x Plus | SSO, central billing, usage analytics, team privacy |
| Enterprise | Custom | Pooled | SCIM, audit logs, spend controls, Grok Bot admin controls |
Prices exclude VAT and other taxes.
The catches (read these)
1. Third-party models are extra. Premium and up let you use non-Grok models in Cursor, but they're billed separately by usage at API list price. They don't come out of your plan's pool. Want Claude all day in Cursor? Budget for it.
2. Plus is Grok-only. Brilliant value if that suits you. Useless if you bought it expecting Claude.
3. The pool is shared. Your usage covers Cursor and Grok together: chat, image, voice and Bot. Generate loads of images and you've got less for coding.
4. It refreshes weekly. That's actually good news. One mad day doesn't wipe your whole month. Run out and you can buy top-offs or wait.
5. Grok API is separate. Paid plans include API access, but API use is billed at standard model rates and doesn't touch your pool.
