Paid plans keep the free grants too: 5 build credits a day and 20 Cloud credits a month on top of the plan's credits. Students with a valid university email can get up to 50% off.
How credits work
One balance pays for three things: building (messaging Lovable), hosting your app on Lovable Cloud, and AI features inside the apps you build.
Building costs vary by mode. Plan mode is 1 credit per message. In default mode it depends on the job. Lovable's own examples:

So 100 Pro credits is roughly a hundred-odd medium changes a month, not a hundred apps. You can see what each message cost by hovering over it in the chat history.
For small and new apps, hosting is normally covered by the included Cloud grant. Big traffic eats into your balance.
The small print
- Credits expire. Monthly plan credits expire two months after they're issued. Annual plan credits expire a month after the annual period ends. Top-ups last 12 months. Daily free credits vanish at midnight.
- No refunds on credits. They can't be cashed in.
- Cancel and you drop to Free at the end of the billing period. Unused paid credits come back if you re-subscribe before they expire.
- Business credits cost more. Lovable says running costs for apps and in-app AI are the same on Pro and Business. Because Business credits are priced higher, the same work uses fewer of them.
- You own your code and your app data, subject to any third-party rights in the underlying AI models.
Which plan should you pick?
- Just kicking the tyres: Free. Five builds a day is enough to see if it clicks.
- Shipping a real project: Pro. Custom domains and losing the badge are the obvious reasons, and rollovers stop credits going to waste.
- Company with IT rules: Business, mainly for SSO and role-based access.
- Big organisation: Enterprise, for SCIM, audit logs and data residency.
